General and Judaic Studies Curriculum
Schechter students are challenged by a rigorous general studies curriculum of language arts, literature, social studies, math and science. They also participate in physical education, technology, arts and music. An impressive array of computer software is available in classrooms and computer labs to enhance the educational experience.
Judaic studies and general studies are creatively integrated to provide the best possible learning experience. For example, a food pyramid might incorporate names of foods in Hebrew, and a social justice discussion in a language arts class includes rabbinic interpretations of repairing the world.
Guided by principles of Conservative Judaism, our Judaic curriculum includes Hebrew language, Bible, rabbinics, prayer, Israel, holidays and the Jewish calendar, Holocaust studies and Jewish history. The Judaic faculty is supported by a Rav Beit Sefer.
