In addition to our traditional tuition assistance process, Solomon Schechter Day School offers special scholarship funding made available by the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation. The Foundation set the criteria for this Scholarship Program based on financial need for families of 7th grade students who have 2 or more siblings at Schechter in grades kindergarten through seventh grade.  Schechter has received $163,200 to establish this Scholarship Program in an effort to impact the retention of students and to increase enrollment.  Nine Middle School students and their families have already benefited from the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Scholarship Program during the 2007-08 school year.  Schechter will again award up to one full tuition to each family who have a 7th grade student and who meet the defined sibling and other eligibility requirements.
