http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Once it’s downloaded, go to Advanced in the menu at the top of the screen

Put the following URL in the box:

http://www.schechter.org/middle/LA_podcasts/podcast.xml

you should see “SSDS LA Booktalk” appear in your iTunes library under Podcasts. The most recent podcast will automatically download to your computer. If you want the older podcasts you can click on “Get” next to the one your want or “Get All” if you want all of them.

Stop by the computer lab or email Mrs. Harris at Deborah.harris@schechter.org if you have any questions.

What's a podcast?

Podcasting is creating an audio file (usually in mp3 format) and making it available online for other people to listen to. This, of course, is nothing new.

Now, however, there are ways to subscribe to specific shows and have the audio files automatically downloaded to your computer. Using mp3 software (like iTunes) you can listen to the files on your computer, or you can download them to your mp3 player like an iPod (that's why it's called podcast).

If all you want to do is listen to the mp3 file online, just click on the mp3 file link below. If, however, you want to subscribe to the podcast copy this line into software that allows you to subscribe to podcasts: http://www.schechter.org/middle/podcast/podcast.xml.
