I am humbled and honored to serve as Head of School at Solomon Schechter Day School of Metropolitan Chicago. My first teaching job was as a third grade teacher at Sager Solomon Schechter Day School in 1997. I fell in love as a professional with the school I loved as a student. Over the last 20 years, I was able to contribute to the school community as a teacher, director of education, principal and assistant head of school.
During my years at Schechter, I expanded my knowledge and skills by obtaining a master's degree in Instructional Leadership and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. My leadership style has been guided by my commitment to being fully present in my work and developing a mindful culture within our school community by integrating mindfulness practices into the lives of our students, faculty and staff. I have witnessed the profound impact that mindfulness can have on our students’ ability to reduce stress and anxiety, to enhance their focus, and to reach their highest potential as learners and as human beings.
The call back home to Schechter is strong, and I am committed to the mission and values that Schechter embodies. I believe that every day we do holy work with our students—creating confident, competent and committed Jews who think critically and feel empowered to enhance the world through their words and actions.
I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our school community.
