Create Your Jewish Legacy with
Solomon Schechter Day School

“As my parents planted for me before I was born, so do I plant for those who will come after me.”
— Talmud (Taanit 23a)

Solomon Schechter Day School has served our Chicago Jewish community for more than 55 years, with nearly 3,000 graduates living all over the world who are using their knowledge, skills and creativity to enrich our world. In one way or another, the extraordinary education and experiences that Schechter offers has had an impact on you, your children, your grandchildren or your community.

By making a legacy gift, you can ensure that Solomon Schechter Day School is here not only for today, but for future generations. All of us, regardless of age, wealth or affiliation, have the ability to leave a legacy. Through your gift, you can fund the current and future needs of Solomon Schechter Day School, receive charitable tax benefits, and leave a permanent legacy to our Jewish community.

The Solomon Schechter Day School Eitz Hadar Society was created to recognize our valued donors who have provided for Solomon Schechter Day School through an endowment, a bequest in their will or trust, or other planned gift.  Our deepest thanks to these donors who are dedicated to the long-term future of our school.

The Solomon Schechter Endowment Foundation was created in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago’s Day School Endowment Program, which was established to ensure that Solomon Schechter Day School and our sister day schools have the necessary resources to meet community needs. All commitments to the Solomon Schechter Endowment Foundation are recognized as gifts to the Jewish Federation’s Centennial Campaign.
Sending our three children to Solomon Schechter Day School is the most meaningful investment we have made as a family. Solomon Schechter continues to be a major partner with our family on our Jewish journey. It is truly amazing to us that we can make a small financial sacrifice now knowing that it will enable us to make a huge gift to Solomon Schechter and the Jewish community in the future.
